Preparations are well underway for the 2nd European Conference on Disinformation and Fact-Checking, with an impressive lineup of confirmed speakers. Scholars and professionals from a diverse range of fields—including media studies, threat information analysis, science journalism, and investigative reporting—are set to contribute to critical discussions. Confirmed participants include experts from the University of Cyprus, the University of International Studies of Rome (UNINT), as well as representatives from private-sector security intelligence organisations and academic institutions in the UK, Spain, Cyprus, and Italy.

The conference, organised by the MediaLab research group, will explore the growing threats posed by disinformation, misinformation, and conspiracy theories in democratic societies. By bringing together thought leaders from academia, media, and policy, the event aims to promote effective strategies and research-based responses to information disorders currently affecting the public sphere across Europe and beyond.

The 2nd European Conference on Disinformation and Fact-Checking will take place from 29 to 30 October 2025 at UC3M Getafe Campus. Organised as a hybrid event, the conference will welcome both in-person and online participation. Attendance is free, and registration is currently open, with the call for abstracts extended until 15 September 2025. Scholars, practitioners, and students interested in the evolving challenges of disinformation are encouraged to submit their proposals and join this dynamic platform for dialogue and collaboration.
