UC3M MediaLab: Exploring the Intersection of Technology and Public Communication

The “Analytics, Media and Public Engagement: Communication, Journalism and Technology Laboratory” Research Group (UC3M MediaLab) responds to the growing need to study the media and public discourse under the influence of technological advances in the information society. Topics such as artificial intelligence, the influence of social networks on public perception, citizen participation, disinformation, crisis communication, big data , STEM  vocations and data journalism will be areas of analysis that will be applied to various areas of society such as politics, economics, law, science, health, environment, ethics, international relations, etc.

UC3M MediaLab members study and analyse the behaviour of traditional and digital media, journalistic coverage of relevant and sensitive issues for society, as well as the influence of communication technologies on public perception and citizen participation in public debate.
