Revati Pathak is a pharmacovigilance (PV) professional and has been in the PV industry for eight years. Her job includes monitoring the benefit-risk profile of the medicinal products throughout their life-cycle. Currently, she is involved in monitoring safety of vaccines during their clinical development. She believes patient safety is of utmost importance hence, she ensures that all her day-to-day tasks including evaluation and in-stream monitoring of clinical data are performed with careful attention. She studied Bachelor of Medicine (degree: M.D. Physician) from Smolensk State Medical Academy in 2013. She registered as General Physician in India and completed her one-year rotatory internship in a tertiary hospital. She completed her Master of Science in Pharmacovigilance and Pharmacoepidemiology under the EU2P programme. As part of her dissertation research project, she published a review paper on use of Twitter posts as a complementary source of early signal detection. Pursuing her interest in data analysis, she completed her certification in Data Health Science and social care from University of Edinburgh. Recently, she also completed a certification on Clinical Trial Risk assessment from Utrecht university. She joined the PV industry as a medical reviewer in Tata Consultancy Services, India. Upon relocating to the UK, she worked as drug safety physician for a couple of Contract research organisations (CROs) for four years. Currently, she works for GlaxoSmithKline Plc, UK as associate medical director. Her current role is in the safety team supporting clinical development of viral vaccines. Outside of work, she enjoys spending quality time with her family. She loves exploring nature and countryside. Due to her passion to support people with unmet medical needs, she has volunteered in the British Heart Foundation (BHF) charity shop and Addenbrookes hospital in Cambridge.
