Viktoriia Romaniuk
Media Lab | Ukraine-EU Disinformation | Project Cordinator
Viktoriia Romaniuk is a communications professional and educator with a career spanning nearly two decades, holding various positions in academia, civil society, and professional journalism. She holds a PhD in Cultural Studies from the Kharkiv State Academy of Culture. Viktoriia is currently the chair of the UNESCO IFAP Committee on Information Ethics and a visiting professor at UC3M, where she engages in teaching and participates in various academic activities, including active research projects. She also serves as the Director of the Mohyla School of Journalism at the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, where she teaches.
In the professional arena, Viktoriia is the Deputy Chief Editor of StopFake, an international fact-checking organisation aimed at combating propaganda and misinformation in the media. Previously, she headed the Media Communications Programme at the Ukrainian Catholic University in Lviv. Additionally, she was a member of an International Scientific Group that develops educational programs in Government Communications - a collaboration between Indiana University’s Media School, O’Neill School, the College, and the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy.
Viktoriia has spoken at numerous conferences and has authored or co-authored multiple publications in highly regarded journals.
