Musicologist. Associate Professor and Researcher, affiliated with the Department of Musicology and the CESEM – Centre for Music Studies, NOVA University Lisbon. Gomes-Ribeiro serves as the coordinator of SociMus (Advanced Studies in the Sociology of Music) and NEGEM (Research Line on Gender and Music) at CESEM, as well as the Coordinator of the Master in Musical Arts. Her primary areas of interest include the sociology of music, sound and music disinformation studies, digital and media cultures, gender studies, opera/music theatre studies, and history of music in the 20th and 21st centuries.
Gomes-Ribeiro received her Ph.D. and Master's degree in Musicology from Université de Paris VIII, following her graduation in Musicology from NOVA FCSH. She authored and edited numerous musicological publications, including Le drame lyrique au début du XXe siècle: Hystérie et Mise-en-abîme (2002), and is frequently requested as a reviewer or jury member for publications, scholarships, academic examinations and scientific projects. She has directed several opera and music theatre productions.
