Marten Neelsen
Second European Conference on Disinformation and Fact-Checking | Conference speaker
Marten Neelsen is a communications strategist, author, and speaker based in Berlin. His work focuses on disinformation, media literacy, and organizational trust in times of digital disruption. With a background in political communication and strategic consulting, he advises companies, NGOs, and public institutions on how to strengthen internal resilience against misinformation, narrative manipulation, and emotionally charged media dynamics.
Marten is the creator of “Breaking the Fake”, an interactive workshop format that helps organizations, municipalities, and political actors identify, understand, and counter disinformation – from AI-generated deepfakes to viral half-truths in local politics. He regularly speaks at conferences and facilitates trainings for leadership teams, communicators, and public servants, often working at the intersection of crisis communication, psychological safety, and digital ethics.
His publications and speaking engagements have focused on emotional virality, algorithmic outrage cycles, and the practical challenges of narrative defense in democracies. Previous engagements include Staffbase VOICES, editorial columns for Politik & Kommunikation, and strategy workshops with national and regional stakeholders.
