Mariel Isabel Nieto

She is an expert in the European Community System, European Policy, European Security and Defence, European Neighbourhood Policy, Regional Policy, International Relations and Russia. In addition to her academic experience, she has extensive professional experience in European politics and international relations, working as a specialist and advisor on European affairs for local and regional governments in Spain since 2003, heading the Foreign Affairs Service of the Regional Government of Extremadura from 2011 to 2012, acting as a substitute member of the Committee of the Regions, acquiring a deep knowledge of the role of regional organisations in the design of national policies and European public policies, especially foreign and security policy, and regional policy.
