Luis Pedro Ribeiro Rodrigues

A journalist and PhD candidate in Communication Sciences at the Universidade Católica Portuguesa (Portugal), Luis Pedro Ribeiro Rodrigues focuses his research on fact-checking and its role in combating disinformation. His doctoral thesis analyses the identity and discourse of this journalistic genre in the media and political context of Portugal. His other areas of interest include the dialectical relationship between technology and mass communication, as well as the recent crisis of factual truth (post-truth). Luis holds a master’s degree in Multimedia Communication from the Universidade de Aveiro (Portugal) and a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the Universidade Federal Fluminense (Brazil).
