Letizia Sacco
Second European Conference on Disinformation and Fact-Checking | Conference speaker
Letizia Sacco is a PhD candidate in urban and regional development at DIST, Politecnico di Torino, under the supervision of Prof. Sara Monaci. Her research focuses on the communication strategies of technical universities in the context of the green transition, with particular attention to the interplay between organizational policies, external communication, and the role of social media. She is especially interested in how disinformation and conflicting narratives shape public perceptions of sustainability and environmental policies.
Her work adopts a mixed-methods approach, combining qualitative analysis of institutional practices and interviews with digital methods applied to social media data. This perspective allows her to investigate both internal organizational dynamics and the broader digital ecosystems where universities engage with the public.
Letizia’s academic background bridges communication, media studies, and digital methods, with a strong focus on sustainability and public engagement. She has also explored related topics such as environmental disinformation and online extremism.
She has participated in international research environments, including the Digital Methods Summer School at the University of Amsterdam, and is building collaborations with European institutions committed to sustainability and science communication.
