Dr. Katerina Tsetsura, Gaylord Family Professor at the University of Oklahoma, USA, has more than 20 years of experience in communication, media outreach campaigns, and media literacy programs, from research to implementation. Dr. Tsetsura is an internationally known researcher of communication strategies within knowledge societies in transition and has over 50 publications on trends in the contemporary information environment and strategic communication. Dr. Tsetsura contributed to research projects funded, among others, by NSF, the National Academy of Finland, and the Norwegian Research Council.
Over the years, Dr. Tsetsura has worked on program evaluation, research, and analysis of programs focused on countering misinformation funded by the U.S. Department of State and the United Nations, among others. Recently, Dr. Tsetsura co-authored a working paper for the Global Forum for Media Development (GFMD) that addressed challenges of evaluating disinformation programming around the world. The paper attracted attention from international donors and transnational organizations, including UNDP, and led to further opportunities in the research of global information pollution.
