Javier Cantón

Javier Cantón is a lecturer and researcher at Universidad Internacional de La Rioja (UNIR), where he teaches and conducts research on digital communication, artificial intelligence, and data visualization. He also teaches at Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC) and Universidad Isabel I (UI1). His work focuses on the study of disinformation, fact-checking practices, and the application of AI and computational methods to address information disorders. He has collaborated with fact-checking organizations such as VerificaRTVE and is part of the IBERIFIER European network. As principal investigator of MonitorIA, he is trying to develope an AI-powered tool to monitor and detect disinformation on Telegram, designed to support journalists, fact-checkers, and society at large.
