Researchers and practitioners working on disinformation, fact-checking, journalism, media literacy, and related fields are invited to participate in the FACTCHECK Final Conference, which will take place on 11–12 November 2026 at the Faculty of Law of the University of Porto, Portugal.

The conference is organised by the FACTCHECK research project, the first large-scale research initiative in Portugal dedicated to simultaneously examining susceptibility to and dissemination of fake news. The event will showcase the project's main findings while bringing together leading scholars and practitioners to discuss current challenges and developments in the field.

A call for papers is currently open, welcoming contributions on topics such as susceptibility to disinformation, political disinformation and democracy, fact-checking and journalism, media literacy, AI and algorithmic amplification, regulation and governance, and prevention and mitigation strategies.

Further information about the conference, submission process, and the FACTCHECK project is available on the conference website:  https://factcheck.pt/
